Check Court Case Status by CNR Number: Ghaziabad and Delhi

Share

Quick answer: To check the status of a case in any district court in Ghaziabad or Delhi, go to services.ecourts.gov.in or open the eCourts Services app, choose the state and district, and search by CNR number, case number, FIR number, party name or advocate name. The CNR number is the fastest: it is a 16-character code printed on summons and orders, and it takes you straight to the next date, court and orders.

What is a CNR number?

CNR stands for Case Number Record. Every case filed in a district court under the eCourts system gets a unique 16-character CNR number. It is usually printed on summons, notices and orders. With the CNR number you do not need to select the state, district or court.

How to check case status by CNR number

  • Open services.ecourts.gov.in or the eCourts Services app.
  • Choose “CNR Number” and enter the 16-character code.
  • You will see the court, the judge, the next date, the purpose of the hearing, the history of past dates and any orders uploaded.

No CNR number? Other ways to search

  • Case number: select the state, district and court complex, then the case type, number and year.
  • Party name: enter either party’s name and the year of filing.
  • FIR number: for criminal cases, choose the police station and enter the FIR number and year.
  • Advocate name: lists all cases where that advocate appears.

Ghaziabad and Delhi specifics

  • Ghaziabad: choose Uttar Pradesh and Ghaziabad. The cause list and holiday list are on ghaziabad.dcourts.gov.in. See our Ghaziabad court guide.
  • Delhi: choose Delhi and the district court complex (Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Saket, Patiala House, Rohini, Dwarka or Rouse Avenue). See Delhi court case status.
  • High Courts and the Supreme Court: these have their own websites and case-status search.

If the status is not updated

Uploads can lag behind what happened in court. If the next date is missing or an order has not been uploaded, check with the court staff or your advocate rather than assuming nothing happened.
